I tried having support just change the zip code it's activated in to be 83501. I had heard it was possible to activate the phone in the next town over (83501) and it would work back where mom lives. I don't think we have the receipt any more which is our fault. Support wants me to return the phone to the store. I guess that must be what happens when they don't have coverage because it is a valid zip code. The Tracfone coverage website says the zip code is invalid. I'm not really sure why our local Shopko sells them if they don't work, but I guess that's Shopkos issue.

It was a different message, but also from Inland Cellular. There was also some kind of activation app on the phone that kept trying to activate. Support had me try a bunch of things such as dialing *73 and it always went to that recording. I assume since it was an Inland Cellular tower and now Verizon that's why the phone wouldn't activate. I would keep getting a recording from Inland Cellular saying the phone wasn't active and to stay on the line. I tried testing the phone by calling my cell phone (I have a Verizon phone).
I attempted to activate it through the website and it appeared the website had some issues, but eventually I got through it. So we purchased an LG phone at our local Shopko (I think it's an LG Treasure), along with a 60 minute card. Apparently it's a coverage issue, but I'm not convinced. I've been trying to get a Tracfone set up for my mom and it doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere.
